I was approached by Rachel Hicks with Rachel Meagan Photography last year to do a kinfolk inspired shoot last February. And to be honest at the time, because I guess I was living in a hole, I did not even know was kinfolk was lol. However, as I started researching I became quickly inspired by it’s bohemian nature and dark color schemes. We quickly decided that we wanted the dining experience to feel like a setting that would be both modern & elegant, while also casual. As a result, we created a tablescape that was low to the ground and guests would sit on modern metal baskets with Mexican blankets. One of my favorite aspect of the tablscape is the black porcelain china and tapered candles. I love the pop of black and how it contrasts with the white and gold element throughout the table. Overall I am so excited with how the entire shoot came together from the romantic element of the brides dress, the yumminess of the sun in all these pics, and even the lush food display with a chocolate naked cake. This kinfolk shoot is sure to inspire the modern bohemian bride!
As many of you may know about 7 weeks ago I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy Wyatt Lee Ducker! (That him below, just look at that outfit!) He is honestly the cutest thing on the planet or at least I think so 😉
He was actually born 4 weeks early, which was defiantly not part of my well thought out plan lol. I have always been one of those people that have felt like I am typically over prepared, but this was defiantly not one of those moments! The day before I was going crazy trying to get everything together (the diaper bags, car seat installed, hospital bag, finishing up the last-minute touches to the nursery, doing our 4 loads of laundry, and I had 3 meetings that day to top it off). By the end of the day I was spent and I think I may have overdone it (just a little!) because the next morning I started to feel contractions! And yes my thoughts were, “O CRAP! This better not be contractions because not everthing is done!! Ahhhhh”. And to top it off our freezer went out, but that is another story!
Unfortunately, once we got to the hospital it was not as easy as one two three o there we have it a baby! We actually had to go back and forth to the hospital three times between Monday and Tuesday and on Tuesday (after a long 45 minute drive BACK to the hospital WITH contractions) the doctor said “This baby is coming whether we want him to or not”. And I am not gonna lie I have never been more relieved to hear the words “Yes you can have your drugs” in my life. (I mean I think 30 hours of labor is more than enough)
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to leave the hospital for about 6 days because he was a premie, but I will say I have never been so excited to get out of a building. Now don’t get me wrong, the nurses and doctors were awesome, but I was so ready to start our lives as a family of three. The next few days, out of the hospital ,were a blur between sleepless nights, breastfeeding, diaper changes, actually having to cook at the house, and just getting to know our little one, I was spent. But once I was able to go back to work, I defiantly had what some call “mom brain” (it is a real thing trust me!), and I am so grateful for my amazing and understanding clients that I get the opportunity to work with. They truly made going back to work easy and fun! Now I can’t wait to show everyone his newborn pictures because I have had so many requests! Get ready for cuteness overload!!

I honestly cannot wait to share this holiday winter wedding at Hollow Hill Event Center in Weatherford Texas with ya’ll! Not only did we get to work with one of the cutest couples ever, but it was the last wedding of the year and the last wedding I did while I was pregnant!
When I first meet with Haley and her mom I knew it was going to be an awesome wedding not only because of the theme, but because she is so adorable and I could just tell how close she was with her family. She was so easy going throughout the whole process, and she really let me run with the overall design and florals. Her only direction was that she wanted it to have some vintage elements. So the vintage holiday theme was born! There are so many beautiful elements in this wedding at Hollow Hill Event Center from the mixed matched china, personal jam jars at each place setting, evergreen and red florals, long garlands, and even a firework show to end the night. It honestly was the perfect way to close out the year!
Congratulations you two! Can’t WAIT for ya’ll to start your first year of marriage 😊!

I am so excited to share this styled shoot we planned and designed back in November and to see it on the Brides of North Texas Blog today! I was inspired for this shoot by pinterest of all places. As I was browsing through pinterest one day, I came across this long elegant velvet dress, designed by Ralph Russo, and I knew it would be the perfect inspiration for my next styled shoot. I was inspired by not only it’s elegance and texture, but also the striking color of the dress. I designed the shoot around the elegance of the pantone color of the year 2017 greenery, and broke up the color through with the use of gold, white, and grey, this helped create a softness and elegance that stood out against the green tones.
The whiskey bar was a fun addition to the styled shoot and added masculine touch to the overall shoot. How fun would this be for an actual wedding!?! I know in Texas guests would LOVE this idea! And we had so much fun styling this with the bride’s velvet green dress, that could also be used as a bridesmaid dress for a winter wedding. Overall I am so excited about this shoot and think it is the perfect inspiration for any greenery loving bride!

Makenzie & Sean’s wedding in Dallas TX last year was defiantly one for the books, and one night guests are sure to remember. Makenzie being a lover of all floral, wanted the greenery and flowers to be main focus in the décor, and created a neutral color scheme that made the florals really pop in the space. Guests enjoyed not one, not two, but THREE cakes, and as guests danced the night away on the dance floor they were given a late night snack of milk and cookies (I mean come on who doesn’t LOVE cookies in the middle of the night!). As the night came to an end Makenzie & Sean walked down the gorgeous tall steps of the Dallas Scottish Rite Museum & Library while guests tossed coconut as they drove away in a white vintage car.
Congratulations Sean & Makenzie!

My name is Shannon and I am the Owner + Creative Director of Shannon Rose Events, a wedding planning and design company, based in Fort Worth, TX that services Fort Worth, Dallas, and event Austin TX.
That’s me right here! I am one of those people that believe anything is possible if you put your mind to it! And in 2010 I decided owning my own Event Design & Coordination company was something I wanted to do, and so I did it! I saved up money working as a job captain at an architecture firm for 3 years and in July of 2014 we officially opened! Can’t believe its already been two and half years.
I am known by my clients for not only my obsession with lists, constant organization, and love of design, but my goofy and outgoing personality. I believe that weddings are a fun and exciting event, so I want the wedding planning process to be the same. There are two things you should know about me: One I am kind of “crazy” when it comes to getting to organizing anything (Like seriously it’s a problem! For thanksgiving I even made a timeline and my husband and friends made fun of me for a few days), and two I LOVE chips & queso and tacos. We might end up having a meeting that involves one or both them because we are in Texas and that is just what us Texans do!!
One of my favorite things about my job is getting to know the couples. Its sounds so cheezy, but I am constantly honored that couples would choose me to be such a big part of one of the biggest days of their lives, and somehow I have been so lucky to have so many amazing clients. Every vendor I work with constantly compliments us by saying we honestly have the BEST clients, and I defiantly can’t argue with that!
One goal I had from the beginning was to make sure each couple feels like they are not only listened to but genuinely cared about. I never want anyone to feel like another number! I make a large effort to get to know each couple and what makes them “them”. And I think this is one reason I am easily able to capture each couple’s unique essence in the overall design of their big day. I guess you could say I don’t have a specific style, and my work constantly varies from formal to rustic to modern to even organic, and I honestly love this! I love that not only each wedding is so different, but also that I am constantly being challenged. I love coming up with different ideas that they might not of even thought of!
I am honestly so excited for what is to come this coming year, and I love that I finally have a brand that reflects us as a company! Today is the launch of our new website (isn’t it PRETTY!?1?1?) feel free to look around and tell us what you think!.
It is just one of the exciting things going on this year, so keep your eye out for upcoming announcements ;)! So far in January we were already featured in not one but two magazines (Brides of North Texas & 360 West Magazine, and we have one blog feature with Knotsvilla!! WOW can’t even believe that this is my job and that I get to do what I love. Look forward to getting to know ya’ll and here is to an awesome 2017!!
