Hotel Drover Wedding | Fort Worth Wedding | Juli & Randy

When I met with Juli, I was captivated by her vision for an intimate, moody, modern, garden-inspired wedding with a touch of rustic charm. As I delved deeper into her ideas and learned more about her personality, I realized that her Hotel Drover wedding was going to be truly unique.

In my design approach, I aimed to create an ambiance reminiscent of a sophisticated downtown restaurant infused with western elements and a hint of organic allure.

Opting for a moody and romantic color palette, we selected sage greens, dark dusty navy grays, and black tones, complemented by colorful muted spring florals in shades of mellow yellows, soft purples, and delicate pinks. This combination of elements set the stage for a one-of-a-kind and unforgettable celebration that reflected Juli's individuality and style.

Hotel Drover Ceremony

Juli’s ceremony design was originally inspired by the landscaping at her home, where a winding floral-lined walkway sparked the vision for her wedding.

From that inspiration, we reimagined a “ceremony in the round” by creating an organic seating layout that flowed in curved rows around a central altar. The effect was an immersive garden-like setting, where guests felt surrounded by beauty at every turn.

Juli also wanted to shake things up and give guests a fun welcome as soon as they stepped into the space. Together, we dreamed up a welcome wagon overflowing with champagne to greet them at the door—setting the tone for a joyful, celebratory evening. To add even more delight, the officiant led a toast during the ceremony itself, inviting everyone to raise a glass the moment the couple was declared husband and wife.

Pops of black introduced a touch of drama that balanced the moody aesthetic, while organic florals cascading down the aisle and adorning the altar captured the essence of a lush garden. The result was an enchanting and unforgettable ceremony that brought Juli’s vision to life in the most remarkable way.

Hotel Drover Outdoor Cocktail Hour

Given that the wedding took place at Hotel Drover a hotel in the heart of the stockyards in Fort Worth, I was eager to create a one-of-a-kind western seating chart. We decided to go with a creative twist—a seating chart inspired by bolo ties.

The setup included metal escort cards and bolo ropes featuring the couple's name and table number to guide guests to their seats. It was a fun and unique way to tie in the western theme of the location!

Hotel Drover Reception

For the reception, I wanted to capture the feeling of an elevated restaurant-style dining experience—modern, intimate, and refined. To achieve this, we designed a mix of long banquet tables and smaller individual tables, each styled with soft lamp lighting and organic floral arrangements that set the mood for a cozy yet sophisticated evening.

To complement this atmosphere, we introduced custom restaurant-style menus. Each menu featured a wood-textured portfolio personalized with the guest’s name on the front. When opened, it revealed the culinary offerings of the evening—a thoughtful detail that elevated the dining experience and brought a sense of refinement and individuality to every place setting.

Transforming Hotel Drover’s soaring ceilings into a more intimate environment posed a unique challenge. Rather than relying on tall centerpieces, we designed custom trellises over key seating areas, draped in lush greenery and illuminated with hanging candles. This architectural layer created a warm, inviting canopy effect that visually lowered the space, adding depth and intimacy while keeping the design fresh and unexpected.

The result was a reception that balanced sophistication with comfort, ensuring guests felt both pampered and welcomed in a setting that was as memorable as it was beautiful.
