Elegant Colorful Ranch Wedding | Tented Wedding | Becca & Grant

While Becca and Grant’s wedding took place at the oldest windmill ranch in Texas, the couple’s style is decidedly not traditional Western. But we made sure that the key elements of the day—both in design and in sentiment—still blended seamlessly with the setting.

It started with a focus on the color blue, which echoed the shades of the sky seen during the outdoor ceremony and through the clear-top tent of the reception. The favorite color of Becca and her family, it also worked great for the French, traditional aesthetic of the celebration. Paired with reds and mauve, the design incorporated birds (which reminded the bride of her late grandmother), scalloped edges (for a classically Southern feel), and florals (to mimic the blooms that would be used on the big day). A bespoke monogram with a rope border to tie in the feel of the ranch weaved it all together and graced everything from the welcome bags (complete with petite pies) and the massive wedding cake.

What began as a dirt field at the time the wedding location was decided on, was transformed into a lush, green lawn come wedding day, thanks to the father-of-the-bride’s determination and an extensive irrigation system. During the ceremony, Becca gave her now-daughter a special keepsake necklace, and as the newlyweds recessed up the aisle they were showered with love and red flower petals by their 175 guests.

The celebration continued in the tent, where a custom bar boasted panels of the day’s signature botanical print, a five-foot-wide floral centerpiece, and some of Becca’s grandmother’s bronze figurines. That same pattern appeared behind the band, who played a range of music including some country classics.

Guests found their seats thanks to a display honoring the groom’s success as a hip hop producer and the couple’s shared love of music—custom acrylic records outlined everyone’s name and table assignments and were displayed on a bookshelf styled to look like Grant’s collection at home. The groom also picked out which real albums would be incorporated in the setup as an extra personal touch.

An after-party in the barn (where many of the family’s special occasions have taken place) followed the lively reception. Blue velvet curtains framed the entrance, and disco balls, neon lights, and a hat wall greeted revelers once inside. The DJ even mixed some of the music Grant had produced among other favorite tunes. Drinks were enjoyed from cowboy boot cups that lit up and Portillo’s hot dogs (flown in from the groom’s native Chicago) were the ultimate late-night snack, with a fireworks display and streamer sendoff capping it all off.
