This year I had the pleasure of helping design the Nest at Ruth Farms Spring open house, and it was by far one of the highlights of my year! The Nest at Ruth Farms is one of my favorite Dallas Fort Worth wedding venues. So when Whitney called and asked if I could be apart of it, you better believe I said YES! 😊
When I first met with The Nest at Ruth Farms, they described their overall vision for the event to be welcoming, romantic, colorful and informative for attendees. So we decided on a colorful pastoral themed event that would help attendees see the way color could add to the space while showcasing a different take on rustic elegance that they may not have considered.
When it came to the floor plan, I knew I wanted to design a space that not only allowed attendees to mingle with vendors easily but also see inspiration throughout the venue. Vendor tables were located along the outside perimeter of the reception hall, to allow guests to easily make their way around the room while a mock reception & ceremony set up was placed in the center of the space. This design created a great flow throughout the event, and vendors were able to exchange information easily.
The Nest at Ruth Farms - Lobby Cocktail Hour
The Nest at Ruth Farm's foyer serves as the perfect cocktail space for weddings, and I wanted attendees to get a taste of what their guests would experience if they had their wedding at the Dallas Fort Worth venue. So when attendees walked into the Nest at Ruth Farms, they received a colorful signature drink from HD Liquid Catering. Each cocktail had colorful edible flowers, a peach color and were served in beautiful coupe glassware. I wanted the drink to be a reflection of the overall theme of the event, but also something brides could use at their own spring wedding, and I think they did a great job reflecting this!
The Nest at Ruth Farms - Archway Ceremony
For the ceremony set up, I decided to showcase an intimate ceremony set up in the center of the space in front of the venue’s large windows. I noticed through my research that the majority of couples that got married at the Nest at Ruth Farms typically get married outside by their pond. So I decided to showcase an indoor ceremony option instead so brides could see the multiple ceremony options the venue offers. At the forefront of the ceremony set up, Wedfully Yours created a large ceremony archway that was filled with greenery & colorful textured flowers that created the perfect “romantic pastoral” backdrop for the setup.
The Nest at Ruth Farm - Colorful Reception Set Up
Around the ceremony scene, I wanted to design different reception table options. I wanted each table to easily showcase how subtle differences in design can completely change a tabletop. However, I knew I needed to be careful in this design to assure that it stays cohesive with the overall look of the open house. As a result, I decided to do two different designs & mix linen styles to help keep it in line with the overall design. For one tablescape, we used the venue’s grey farm tables, and we used sage green textured linens for the two round tables. The florals added to the color scheme through a mix of red, yellow, and orange flowers that just put a huge smile on your face! I loved how R Love Floral used the florals instead of the greenery to create the “texture” in the arrangements. This allowed the floral centerpieces to have a romantic aesthetic, while still feeling timeless & colorful to onlookers.
Overall I was really excited about how the event turned out, and I can’t wait for you to see all the beautiful pictures Sarah Lanette Photography captured!
